I'm in highschool and ive never been to a concert before and I want to go to this MCR concert that is near my town (well like 2 hours away actually) but Im afraid to ask my parents to go because well im a really good kid mostly and I dont want them to think im becoming goth or something but it is like my only chance to see them since they will be so close. So idk what to do! And im not old enough to drive so i would have to figure out how to get there but, im still afraid to ask. If it was like a hilary duff concert (gags uncontrollably) or something they'd probably let me go, but idk about MCR. :S

I forgot to metion that I have pretty much no friends who even know what MCR is, since many of you have been mentioning that i could bring friends. I wouldn't know who to bring though, and I don't know if I could drag any of my normal friends along unless I somehow got them into the music.

Ask them if they'd be willing to take you, that it might be fun for them to go. But then again my parents were always a lot different about things like that than most. I never really had to ask to do thing I just told them where I was going, who with, what time and all the things they wanted to know and they'd be like ok. I was always the good kid too and that should make them trust you a lot more.
Honestly I went to an MCR concert, I took my younger cousin who was only 16 and I was 18/19 (can't remember exactly). I was nervous about taking her because I had never been to a "punk/goth" concert either, but I had been to lots of concerts. Her dad wouldn't let her go unless he knew and trusted the person that was going with her, so I took her. Honestly it WAS NOT that bad at all! It was the Taste of Chaos tour also, and The Used were there along with MCR. I thought it would get crazy and be a huge crowd and all that, but it wasn't! I was nervous because I definitely don't dress "goth/punk" just because it's not me, but there were a lot of other kids there that were dressed just plain "normal" and the crowd was a nice smaller size, they moshed but didn't get out of control, I never once smelled any weed which I was worried about, but nope never smelled it or saw it. And most of the people there were to young to drink so the crowd wasn't all a drunken mess. So honestly it's not as bad as what you probably think it will be! They are a lot of fun and a good way to spend a night having a blast. Just tell your parents that you've never given them any reason to doubt you before and ask a group of friends to go with you, I'm sure that would make their decision a lot easier if you had some friends going or they were going!
Hope it works out for you! Good luck!

Another thing you may want to be concerned about are what type of people are going to be there as well. Will they be more dangerous to you? Some concerts are that way. Some of my favorite bands I won't go see because for some reason I'm not typical of the type of crowd that goes to these concerts. Check around with some friends who know the crowd. A girl was killed not too long ago at an AC/DC concert near where I live. It's not fun any more when things like this happen. Do your research.

Same thing happened to me a while ago. I really wanted to go to a Switchfoot concert in NYC & I was worried my parents would say no. I suggested taking the train there & back if they couldn't drive me. But that wasnt enough. Then I thought of my friend Lisa who loves Switcfoot too & my parents were much more comfortable knowing that I wasnt going to be alone. If you're a good kid point that out 2 ur parents when u ask them. And if you can find a friend to go with u that may help.
I really hope u get 2 see this concert, seeing as ur sn is I love Gerard Way I'm guessing u really like MCR.
Good Luck!

Hi good kid,
For a music lover see a concert is a must, right !!!! One thing that you should do if you are a music lover. So you have try every way to make it come true. So here are my opinion for you :
1. You have to tell your parent about this, they got to know about that. And you try to make them feel ok is you are going to the concert. It's a must. You have to try every way to make your parent agree with you want.
2. Bring your friend as many as you can to see the concert, and tell about this to your parents. You got to have older friends if you can.
3. You have to collect all the news about the band that you will see in concert then tell your parents again about the band. Collect it as many as you can. You can collect their news, review or everything that related to the band.
Hope you can see them in concert.

Do you have an older sibling that could go with you or an older Aunt or cousin and just ask your parents if you can go with this person, to a concert and you'll be back at a certain time or you're gonna stay the night with your Aunt(or whoever takes you) They would feel better that you were with that person right, and probaly let you go..good luck..

Ifyour not old enough to drive you should definatly talk to your parent's about it , worst they could say is no.If they sy no just try to understand that their only thinking in your best interest and doing what they can to protect thier child cause no matter how old you get that's what they do is worry for you. You'll have lot of chance's later in life to go sorry i know you probably dont want to read this but im a young parent and beginning to understand myself but good luck with that.

tellem even if they have to take you. who is mcr anyway? sounds like a emo/poser band. Just ask em dont be so emo. I am sure you have familia in that town they can visit while your at the show. if you work offer to buy the gas to and from the show. or if your lucky and momma and daddy will pick up the entire trip. don't forget to take a cell phone, so you can let em know how your doing and to pick you up after the show.

Show them this post.
Then ask them what they need from you in order for them to let you go to the concert.

ok you want to go but you don't want to ask them because you want them to keep thinking you're a good kid; but if you don't ask them, and if you arrange to go without telling them, then that is definitely not something a good kid would do. just ask them. and then maybe they will help you arrange how to go--otherwise you might just be out of luck--unless you decide not to be a good girl.
