I don't think you are referring to literally licking their lips. I think you mean getting rid of it. Right? It seems others may be confused. lol. I don't know the reason, but maybe they are having trouble finding a good chap stick that works or maybe they don't care. I think if people say to a person-wow your lips are really chapped and offer them some polite advice, that might get the point across. I hope so anyway.

Lol! Licking dry lips does make it worse. The spit dries up quickly, leaving the lips looking even more busted! They need chap stick or vaseline or something! haha.

Why do people who have chapped lips never lick it? Because they canget even more chapped. LOL! I do see what you're saying, though. It's easy to apply lip balm/mositurizer instead of ignoring your dry lips.

Usually if you lick your lips, it makes the chapped lips even worse. That's why there is chapstick.

First off, chapped lips get worse if you lick them. So that might be why. However I don't know why they can't use medicated blistex. It works in just one day.

saliva takes natural moisture out of the lips.. which in actuallity, only makes them more chapped.. so to avoid lips cracking, dont lick..

Licking your lips will dry them out more. It only provides a temporary moisturizing effect for your lips. Better to put on chapstick or lip balm.

hmm.
Well, licking them hurts.
Trust me.
When I licked them because I didn't have chap stick, they split in 4 different spots, all in the same hour.
And it hurt.
LIKKEEEEE..HECKK!!
So...just discreetly tell that person that their lips are chapped, and it's better for them to use chap stick, because it makes it less painful.
