Because of the tone you use when you talk to them... when they hear it, they respond.. or if they do something wrong, they totally try to look at you to see if they are busted!

because they can truly understand you. and they really know what's going on with you. i have a cat. she's a bit of a funny character. she doesn't like to be cuddled a lot, but she knows when I'm feeling upset or when I'm having a really bad day. then she'd climb on to my lap and let me cuddle her. she does this all the time with no fail. and another thing. I'm dead scared to sleep alone. i guess she knows this too, because she climbs on to the bed and sleep with me until i wake up in the morning.

they have ears and they listen just like my cockerspaniel he looks at me and listens to every lil word i say he is too smart and him and my sisters cat get along great they have so much fun they sleep in the same bed its so funny and cute
