moved to a new place ,feeling a little depressed, secluded and lonley.Sometimes being out in the middle of nowhere my mind drifts and my dreams become weird, but then I think of other things and get busy and i don't feel that way .If you seclude yourself and never get out and dont socialize can you lose your mind? Or do you have to be prone to do that? When there were pows that were in seclusion for months and years at the time ,what were they focused on to keep them going? What can you focus on as to stay mentally healthy ?

Hi. I hope that you find peace on this planet. Those that pin their hopes on an after life MAY be right. But if they are wrong, then enjoy what you have for companions, hobbies, and treasure all else that matters to you. Your mind is what it is. Do not fret about it. Enjoy it.

If you want to feel mentally healthy in the middle of nowhere, listen to music (I do during the wintertime when I'm indoors), read, play games, call people on the phone, e-mail people, watch DVDs, learn to play an instrument, do sports... it's a long list!

POWs typically create little games and distractions for themselves so that they have a healthy and active inner life - they might imagine building a house in their mind or count the number of cracks in their cell. You don't even need to do that... just pick up a CD player!

A friend of mine lost his mind the other day, he lived a secluded life in the woods, every airplane that flew over his compound was "spying on me" he said. every day the postal service delivered the brown packages to his large mailbox...............

Hey, cut the stuff, we can all make up outrageous accusations and accuse others for our faults, but its you, me, we are in control.

If you think you are losing your mind, then you aren't.

People who lose their minds don't know anything about it
