Have either a wireless game adapter, or another way is a router with a couple ports in them and hook a usb port into that and into your xbox, etc.

I always lost my connection through my wireless game adapter so I just run a long usb cord from my 360 to the router now and no problem.

If you look into wireless game adapters I would buy one that's made solely for xbox, they work REALLY good. I bought mine from netgear and it never worked from day one. We had to take it back 3 times, it was a piece of ****. They're kind of pricey, but worth it.

You need a ethernet cable that plugs into the xbox and the other end connects to the modem.

You going to have to get an account. you could purchase one online. If you have a xbox 360 you could get one online or buy it at the stores (like gamestop or game crazy for example). If you have the original xbox you could find free 2 months of xbox live inside games like halo 2 , ghost recon 2, and mortal kombat deception. Those cards have codes and you enter them to get your 2 free months of xbox live arcade.

You could use a router if you want so you could go on the internet and xbox live at the same time. I had to keep on switching the cords because i had no router at one point, but i finally purchased one and i don't have to keep on switching the cords anymore.

here's what you have to do. first get a router if ya have a high speed connection. you will probably want a 4 port router cable/dsl.what you would do is hook your modem up to the Internet port on the router it will say Internet on it.then plug your router into slot 1 on the router and then plug other end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on your PC and hook your xbox Ethernet cable into one of the ports 1,2,3,4 doesn't matter which one.and that is the setup of how it's set up. mind though that you have to run the setup disk that came with the router and that will help a lot. you will have to run the CD in order to setup the xbox live and the Internet. hope this helps
