Let's see. $700 million from 12 million illegals. each illegal adds about $60 to our economy. How much does each illegal cost us in social services?
Somehow, I don't see this as a bargain.
BTW I'm a Republican & I don't drive an SUV.

Did you know that many of them have highly organized plans that involve staying in the US for 5 years, living 12 people to a 2 person dwelling and taking their money back home to buy a house?
My sister in law is native Peruvian (US less than 5 years). She seeks out people who speak Spanish, and this is what they tell her.

If there were only 1 million of them, thats 700 dollars each. How much do you add to the economy? what about crime? What about so many other factors that you refused to address?

I don't care if they actually did add a profit to our economy... the fact of the matter is that we are trying to teach our children to obey and respect the laws of our land.
They are coming here ILLEGALLY and they KNOW they are breaking our laws by doing so.

Subtract the unwillingness to submit the the law of the land, burning our American flag, bringing in disease, illegal drugs, and those that are dangerous with criminal records and you will find a deficit.

Allow me to remind you that it's the Bush administration that's pushing the guest-worker program and vowing to veto the "build a giant wall" idea.
Do your homework next time and try not to make hateful generalizations.

I don't know exactly what they add or what they take.
But is it really relevant?
Having people cross our borders illegally and ignore our laws is wrong. We need to control our borders, or else we don't have a country.
I wouldn't need to know the economic impact of abolition before deciding to oppose slavery.

How did you get that statistic? Is it the labor they produce? Is it the deficit between their labor and their undocumented pay? Does it balance out the remittances to other countries?
I'm all for more open immigration but if this statistic is valid then please e-mail me some information about it, so that I can cite it and then back it up!
