Adam's tiger was Cringer, when he transformed to he-Man Cringer became Battle-Cat.

Just like He-Man has two forms (He-Man & Prince Adam), his tiger has two forms. Normally, he is the cowardly Cringer, but when Prince Adam transforms into He-Man, Cringer becomes the mighty Battle Cat.
