Is it the Dems responsibility to fix the intentional "mistake", or is it oversight that they do in Congress.

jesus here we go: i asked the q, and you replied "After the election they found out the soldiers weren't going anywhere!"
Of course after the election, this past week, the soldiers havent gone anywhere. Dems aren't even in power yet! You have to read it in sequence so you dont get confused and do the Rove timeline twist.
The question is again, are they going to have the responsibility to FIX bushes "mistake", or are they there for oversight? If Bush can't fix his 'mistake' is the correct oversight to replace (impeach) him?...or?

Ultimately all they can do is advise...the president is still the decider (commander in chief) so look for little to change other than casualties rising.

Well, it's Congress' responsibility, and the democrats control Congress, so in that sense, yes. Unfortunately for the Dems, they have taken over a government that is in the midst of a crisis, and because of that, if they cannot fix the crisis. They will be blamed for what they inherited. I am by no means a democrat, but the Dems will most likely take more blame than they deserve for Iraq, unless they pull off a miracle in the next two years, in which case, they'll be heroes.

Dems will need to decide what is to be the plan, yes. We are there, you may have noticed, and at war.
Since it is apparent that the US voters determined they are unsatisfied with the war, there must be a solution.
Regardless of where you come down on this issue, every one of our politicians are old enough to remember how the US left Vietnam, and how it tore apart our nation, not to mention the fact that the blood-shed continued after we left.

I have a solution to Bushes screw up, but it's not the one most Americans want to hear, but in my opinion, it's the only one thats going to assuradly help the American people in the long run. 1: Yes, Bush made a huge mistake when he invaded Iraq to begin with, well yes most of America supported going to war, with Iran, I believe, you know the place that Bin Laden's from, Iraq should have never been invaded, but, now that we're there, we can't just leave, I think the only sensible solution is to pull our ground troops out and start dropping bombs, anywhere where any kind of terrorist activity is suspected in Iraq. It's been started by us, if we were smart, we'd finish it, the right way.

What solution......oh you mean the one they gave during the election, but wait a minute they didn't. They said they were going to bring the troops home. Most of the Democrats on here kept saying that the Dems were going to bring the troops home. After the election they found out the soldiers weren't going anywhere!

since only congress( NOT the president) decides when were at war id say if they might actually be able to get us out especially with them running the senate. Bush's only chance now is to use executive orders. also, with the situation looking bad in Iran and North Korea the dems might be shooting themselves in the foot if they fail to work out a diplomatic solution.

Yes, it is the Democrats job to try and fix the government, and it is the Republicans "job" to point the finger at the democrats and wreck the government as much as they can.
Keep in mind the Republicans have no solutions to ANYTHING. In fact, they bend over backwards to create problems.

They have to contribute to the political solution in Iraq. Not doing anything will not get you re-elected..Just ask the Republicans......

Tammy : Bin Laden aint from Iran.
His Family is from Yemen and i think he grew up in Arabia.
Your solution would kill a whole lotta civilians and the U.S. would be infested with new Iraqi attack cells.
No thanks.

Sure, go ahead and "fix" whatever you want. When it comes back to bite us in the butt, it'll be y'alls fault. Go ahead and cut and run, prove to the world that democrats are lilly-livered sissy girls.
