Thanks to the Internet, placing orders to vendors is a lot less time consuming. That goes hand in hand with checking on orders, or correcting problems with orders.
Communicating with the home office ( in the case of chain stores) is a lot easier too.
Updated equipment helps also. Monitors throughout the store helps all team members in an establishment know what is going on with each customer.
Modern technology in the food industry means safer food storage, less costly mistakes ( which means less expenses to pass on to the customer), and quicker service.
The food industry seems to always benefit from modern technology.

a few ideas: Organic farming and the back to basics way of farming without the use of chemicals and pesticides and sometimes even without machinery for the sake of our earth and our own health. or Look at the genetic altering of different foods. This technology is ruining the goodness of the original heirloom varieties of so many fruits and veggies. Or the use of hormones and antibiotics in the animals we eat and the conditions and unhealthy circumstances they are being raised in. We consume these things when we don't eat organic meat. These things are terrible for us! Hope you can use something here!

Well..They can harvest, package, deliver, cook ,and serve at a much faster more reliable way than in the past. Of course it's not all for the better. What with additives, preservatives, and chemical altering, you never know what your going to get. Hope that helps!
