My neighbor plays her music too loud as she cleans through the day and I can't sleep.
My scaitic nerve acts up during the night and I can't walk.
My co-worker is making me feel uncomfortable and I would like to work a different shift then her/him.

Your supervisor will respect you more if you tell him/her the truth. Ask about the possility of transfering to day shift, and how you are feeling about the night shift. Maybe you will be first in line for an opening.

go get a note from your doctor saying you can only sleep at night, life threatening if you do not..if boss says no sue him
go to eye doctor and get a note saying you can not see much of anything at night and it is dangerous for you to be out at night...
go to a doctor and get a note saying that you sleep walk at night and are not responsible for ANYTHING that you do or say. you may even wreck machinery and break windows and hit people with anything that is available to you at that monument...
but this ALL goes away during the day...
and if he says he has to let you go after you explain these medical problems to him, sue under the disabilities act, after all your just trying to be honest and do your job, but it HAS to be during the day...
all else fails, call his boss and call the cops one night and say he sexually harassed you...
that will do one of two things
get you on days, or get you his job....
or maybe even some money ...
and you know he has said or done stuff your not telling anyone...you know this already has happened..
good luck

Just tell them the truth. The fact that you hate it is excuse enough. Maybe they could switch you to a better shift.

Tell him that your little brother or your sister and nephew moved in with you and you need to be home to babysit at night because your sister is a cop and can't get out of the night shift.
Something along those lines! Your boss doesn't know who your family is.

You may not need to make up an excuse. Maybe you've paid your dues and deserve to work day shift. You could just mention it casually and see what kind of reaction you get.
Good luck.
