Why shouldn't parents have a choice in their children's education?

it's the government's responsability to provide good public education for children. parents do have a choice- they can send their kids to private schools if they want. but the government shouldn't pay for it.
we don't want to just pass the problem off by handing out money. public education can and does work, if it is properly funded.

As long as they are NOT used for a school affiliated with ANY RELIGION, I have no problem with them.
