Without extra details, we can only supply general information. Reasons for loss of erection can be physical or psychological. The erection may be partially lost and regained repeatedly during an extended excitement phase. It may be lost because of anxiety or stress issues (and in particular because of the stress of realising they are 'going flat'). As mentioned, any erectile dysfunction could be the result of medication and/or a medical condition (heart conditions, obesity, blood pressure issues).
Boredom is not the only explanation, and there are certainly a LONG list of potential causes before you get to 'boredom'. (As a general rule, where the mind goes the body will follow...)

If a man is stressed it can have effects on his errection. I know from expirience, stress can kill a sex drive. With me, when stress effected me in that area, it also had other effects on me personally, I was depressed, because at the time, I felt that I wouldn't be able to pleasure my wife.
But thankfully I am married to a great woman who helped show me that I can pleasure her in other ways sexually.
And when the stress started going away, it was from my job at the time, things improved in bed.

In a 45 minute session of sexual activity the average man will gain and lose his erection 3 times, its just a natural waxing and waning cycle of arousal before orgasm, its nothing personal

its the JIT (just in time) principle of production. It stands only when required. There is no point in having your most important muscles working overtime 24 hours a day.
And moreover can u even imagine thousands of men walkin around in the street wit a huge bulge infront of them. aaarrrggghhh

They can lose them because of a couple of reasons. One is he might have masturbated a bit before, two he got to nervous, three he might have been drinking or doing drugs, and last he might have been wearing a condom and was unable to keep it erect due to lack of feeling.
