This is kinda ridiculous, but for married couples, whose responsibility is it to use protection? If both the man and woman use protection, (ex. wife uses birth control, + condom), would the condom be for the man or the woman?

It should be the responsibility of whoever doesn't want kids.

If the woman doesn't want to get pregnant, she should be on birth control, or use spermicide or buy female condoms (yes, they do exist).

If the man doesn't want to get her pregnant, he should wear a condom. I'm sure there are other lesser-known options for the man, but I'm not male, so I have no idea what they are.

I think if the wife is already using birth control the man should be in charge of buying and wearing male condoms. Making the woman buy female condoms (especially since they have to be inserted earlier that day!) seems like overkill.

For all of you who said you'd never heard of a female condom, here's a picture:

and you can also buy them on this site:

I've never heard of a woman wearing a condom before unless there is something new on the market thats called a condom for women. But to ensure double protection against pregnancy it would be wise for both the man and the woman to use protection.

BOTH, birth control pills are NOT 100% effective so if the woman doesn't want a tubal or a hysterectomy but wants to be surer that there will be no little ones condoms and birth control pills is the mode of operation. But whether a couple are married or not it is up to the BOTH of them to prevent not only pregnancy but STDS and HIV...sadly there is no preventative against HPV because it is spread by skint to skin contact and for all of you girls who don't care about that right now...it is known to also cause CERVICAL cancer...So think about it. Are you willing to give up your cervix (as well as the rest of our reproductive organs probably) for that pizza faced 16 year old you THINK is hot right now?

I think it would have to be the man, because if the guy doesn't want it, women are already taking birth control so I think the man should wear the condom.

If you are not wanting children it is both of the wife and husbands responsibility. And it doesnt hurt anything to for her to be on the pill and the him to still wear a condom.

It's whoever doesn't want a baby. If the woman and the man equally do not want children, then they both bear a responsibility to protect themselves from the situation of pregnancy.

If a man no longer wants to have children, then the burden is on him to be sterilized. If a woman no longer wants to bare children, the burden is on her to be sterilized.

I think more so condoms are a man's responsibility... cause it's covering their member. That's just my thoughts... why would us women go out and buy condoms? The men are the sex-hungry ones... lol.

The condom should be for the man, although the pill is very effective all by itself.

I think both the man and woman should be responsible since they are in it together.

Whoever wants to avoid making a baby. I made it clear to my husband I wasn't using birth control when I wanted kids. If he wasn't ready, it was his responsibility.
