I agree with the ladies who talked about the ligament pain and had it also. I am now 32 weeks pregnant and if it helps, that pain has gotten much better. I wouldn't say it has gone away but I used to get pretty bad cramps from coughing or from leaning too far when I try to get out of bed or something. Now I have pain on the side of my pelvis and hips! It's my pelvis stretching (I am taking an anatomy class at the college right now so I know more about this then I would like to know!). The pain in the stomach has pretty much gone away though. Just stay hydrated and take it easy. If you go to the Dr they will just give you TYlenol (that's what they did when I went in freaked out too). But if it gets unbearable or anything else starts happening then it NEVER hurts to go to the hospital and have them listen to the heartbeat just to set your own mind at ease. Believe me...they'd much rather you come in then wait at home worrying. But like I said (and keep saying and other women said:)!) I would bet money that it is the ligaments stretching to make room for baby in the lower sides of your stomach. Just take it easy and know that it SHOULD get easier:)

Sounds just like round ligament pains to me... are they mainly in the sides of the uterus? If so that's what you are having. I'm having them too... went to the ER freaking out and everything... and all was normal. Mine got pretty bad though too, but they can... hope yours don't. Call the DR in the morning to ease your thinking, and good luck!

I generally say that if you're having regular cramping (more that 5 times in an hour) you should be evaluated for preterm labor (see your OB doctor)

It could be braxton hicks contractions, but if they're painful I'd call the doctor as soon as possible.

If you are bleeding, go to your obgyn, they could just be harsh braxton hicks contractions. those contractions are just preparing you for the real ones. good luck.

it could very well be the muscles that wrap around the side of the belly, my pain was just horrible in those muscles, and it was scarey with my first sinc i didnt know what they were....but it was like also everytime i sneezed or coughed, it would pull those muscles.. it sucked... but CONGRATS. !!

it could be just your uterus stretching making more room for the baby.
