No, don't give up on yourself. Having a felony record for robbery will certainly make it more difficult to find a job that involves trust with handling cash, funds, accounts, etc., or if there are, for example, state licensing requirements that rule out felons. But as for other opportunities, you should not rule yourself out. My recommendation is to be honest about it--deal with it head-on so that you may convince the potential employer that you have turned over a new leaf, turned your life around, etc. I know of a couple of people who are very successful after having had felony convictions--one worked his way up and is now the president of his company. Good luck!

I think we all make mistakes it is how you react to them is what is important. I believe you are correct by assuming some people will act negatively towards your past but others just might look past it or give you a chance because you finished college with a degree. If you quit college then that will be another mistake in your life. I know for sure you will have a better chance in life with a degree then without one regardless if you have a felony or not. By earning a degree from college you will show that the the mistake you made when you were 18 was just that a mistake and not a way of life.

Absolutely not. I am a felon, 39 and have a most healthy financial environment. Felonies mean absolutely nothing in the real world of life. Be happy it happened at 18 because at the five year mark of being off of parole/probation you can get your record expunged. DO NOT worry about this in the least bit....People around you will only know if you choose to tell them....and if someone is narrowminded enough to judge you by it then they're not worth your time. STAY in school, go on and get a masters degree as well.....especially in this day and age and don't even worry about getting a job and impressing everyone or even yourself....school is imperitive and your healthy outlook even more so. Work out, be smart & be a sexy bastard and be a man and don't let them subvert you or get to you.....DO NOT allow it. I have some ideas for you if you wish to email me. Good Luck!

Never give up!!! Never give in. What's in the past can't be changed. Your future is what matters at this point. Just as the are some who will try to keep you down for your mistakes, there ARE others who will try to help you up. So dont' give up, you'll fall into that trap and that's not good for anybody.

KEEP YOUR HEAD UP!!!!!!!!!!!!
