Should the voting machines be trusted?

living proof that SOME things are NOT to be trusted to computers! Computers are what caused the flak that the elderly got with the first Bush election. the real problem with that is today's generation under thirty has no patience and wants everything when they want it. voting is too important to be left to a machine that can be hacked or hit with a virus or messed up by a downed powerline or EMP attack. as for the accusations, well politicians tend to be more spoiled brats then two year olds in the back seat. as voters we need to be like proper parents and show them why God gave us a backhand! with pols we do this by writing them, emailing and voting. good luck and peace!

PS the repubs are hyperreacting because all the experts said they were going to get the senate while the dems got congress. ain't the will of the people great???-:)

voting machines should absolutely NOT be trusted whatsoever. The voting machines used in florida where I used to live kept the list of votes in a normal, unsecured microsoft excel file. If someone wanted to, they could click the column containing which candidate was voted for and type something, and all the votes would change to whatever they wanted. I've even heard that some voting machines are connected to the internet! It's a complete travesty that such important procedures are being entrusted to an organization which is completely oblivious to the consequences of their actions.

I don't trust the voting machines. I'm glad my precinct still uses paper ballots. I know my vote is correct that way. The voting machines have a hard drive, much like the computer I'm typing on. Those hard drives can be hacked.

Oh yeah, and since when has an election NOT been contested? Someone's always going to demand a recount. Case in point, one local man who lost by 32 votes demanded a recount, and found out he actually lost by 38. Hehehe.
