I got a used couch and love seat a couple of months ago and I had the same problem. First I rented a rug doctor steam cleaner w the attachments and cleaned it! Then i used Fabreeze every day for like 4 days. Now it smells fresh and clean! Good luck!

Febreeze is alright but i really like the one that Clorox makes it has a nicer scent to it and seems to last longer. before you spray that on your couch though a good idea is you can mix a lil baking soda with some water in a sprayer and use it as well it is take the smells out without a scent to it than it wont take the febreeze or whichever you use as long to absorb the scent!!!
Good Luck

DRYEL It is an at home drycleaning product. You can find it in the laundry soap isle. Not too expensive and leaves clothes smelling fresh. It is a large plasticy type bag that you put your clothes in along with the enclosed moist towelettes. You close the bag and toss it in the dryer. The clothes basically get steamed inside the bag. It is a great product. i have used it for years. It works great on getting out the cigarette smell your clothes get at clubs.
