Funny that happened to me the other day, and it caused me alot of problems, because I borrowed the quarter from someone, and put some coins in the machine, then when I didn't have enough change, I had to go beg for more money, and when I came back someone had used the change that I put in, so I ended up with less money than if I hadn't borrowed the quarter. I'm diabetic, so sometimes my pills make my blood sugar too low. But I don't hate it. It's annoying, but doesn't happen often. It just reminds me that there's another country on this continent besides the United States usually.

The reverse is just as irritating...trying to put an american coin into a canadian vending machine...

Yes. If every 1000th coin i get is canadian, then every 1000th vending machine i see should take canadian coins.

same here with american coins, but theyre worth more than a canadian coin so no bitching here lol :P
p.s. how can you get a wrong coin from your own bank? thats strange..

It's even worse when you don't find out until you are at the "change only" lane of a toll plaza and have no more change!
