now he is sleeping, when he wakes up and he drinks another 2 ounze or so, is it still important to bring him to the ER. i would bring him in a minute. but my husband (who is a very good father and worries about him too), sais, that he is not dehydrated as he drank 2 ounze an hour ago, and in total maybe 8 ounze today, although probably most of it he vomitted and had diarreah, please answer me quickly, thanks

You can tell if hes dehidrated based on his diapers (are they as wet as normal) and does he has the normal amount of saliva in his mouth? If you answered yes then hes fine, if no then I would suggest taking him to a doc asap

if he has vomiting, combined with diarreah, you need to take him in. Because both of those will only make the dehydration worse. And he is only 9 months old. He is just a little guy, so theres not much there to fight off bugs or to fight off dehydration. I think dehydration is a big vicious circle and that is why they want to take care of it right away. with out all the water, his body will just keep in all the toxins and stuff.

Hun, I understand hubby is trying to be helpful. But, a mother's instinct is a mother's instinct.

If you aren't getting wet diapers your baby is dehydrated. Especially if he isn't drinking and has been vomitting and having diaharea.

Take him to the ER!!

Why have you not called your pediatrician?
