if I had to guess, I'd say that Cavour would have taken Garibaldi's short-sighted (and less-effective) attempts to unite Italy by force to be rash and certainly not well thought out. Garibaldi might have criticized Cavour's more lengthy plan for Italian unification through more diplomatic and less revolutionary means as demonstrating a lack of passion over the cause of Italian nationalism. Cavour's method was obviously the more effective of the two; while Garibaldi's renegade army made some great initial headway in marching up the Italian peninsula, it was quickly defeated and he was executed. Cavour was able to effectively re-gain some Italian territories and unite these new (and old) territories around his kingdom of Peidmont.
