These Hornets/Wasp only appear in the day time and only in the living room/dining room when it is sunny and the blinds are open. It is mid November in Kansas City and temperatures are in the 40's and 50's during day and low 40's to high 30's at night. I have not had the windows open in weeks, how are they getting in the house or is there a nest in the house? I have sprayed insect killer multiple times and searched for a nest and have not found one. What can I do?

next time - take a seat in the room and watch the show - they have to be going somewhere -

note where the traffic is going in and out

BEST time to spray is early moning or early evening
when all are home for the night

good luck

Try putting Bug bombs in your attic..if you have an attic? Those critters can go in and out a hole the size of a pencil. they can come thru a light fixture too (via the attic)! I had a wasp nest in my wall from a tiny pencil size hole outside. The nest was about 12" by 16" I tore the sheetrock out and exposed them and destroyed them with spray...all it took was some caulk over holes I noted around the house which helped to keep them from entering my walls, etc. If you have a gappy overhang I guess you'd have to set off the bombs in the warmer months to keep them at bay. Also, everytime you see a nest form under your eaves find a way to knock it down..I use a long painting extension pole.

Easy one, Mix dish soap and honey into a bowl and set it it out, if it works they should go in for the honey and get stuck. Then die of course. If you see a lot of them in the bowl then there inside the house, if just a few then theres a small hole somewhere there getting it. Do you have a fireplace? of so try shutting it and blocking it up. This happened to my grandparenst before, they had a hornets nest in there chimney. Thats nature for you.

Raid wasp killer or professional exterminator or a regular basis or at least come out and dispose of them and do check backs to see if they are gone and not taken residence again..

They make some wonderful stuff called "Hot Shot" in a
spray can. It kills them as soon as there hit. Stuff is amazing!
