Really dont think the you should buy the warranty again because you already know how to replace the parts.

Yes it is. My room-mates Dell lost the hard-drive twice before the end of his extended warranty. Even if you do the work yourself, the costs of two hard-drives far outweigh the costs of the warranty. Me? I'd never own a Dell computer. Buy something more reliable like Hewlett Packard, IMHO.

It depends - how long do you plan to keep the computer. Are you buying it with Dell or the retail store. Do not buy extneded warranties from either Best Buy or Staples. They will both win that game. the manufacturers will be ok for the extended warranties as long as you want to keep your new computer for more than two years. Remember they keep getting better and for less dollars.

A friend of mine bought a Dell, didn't get the extended warranty, and it crashed. At that time it was out of his warranty. When he called Dell he found out that his computer wasnt new but "refurbished". since he didnt buy the extended warranty. So if you buy a Dell I would suggest to buy the extended warranty.

I believe that the warrenty covers the cost of buying replacement parts. Its up to you to decide if a part going bad is worth the risk.

The question is unquestionably whether you desire to maintain that computer for 4 extra years. My guess is "no" - and that's hassle-free to repair maximum issues your self. For $a hundred and forty, you may take you computer in a minimum of a pair of cases to a community shop (overlook approximately Circuit city or ultimate purchase - circulate to a community shop!), and likelihood is solid that in case you have no longer mandatory carrier by way of now, it won't ensue. the main uncomplicated difficulty is a foul HD or CD/DVD, and those are enormously hassle-free to substitute.
