If I were you I would not spend money on 911 classes. When you get hired at an agency, they will pay for all of the training you will need to perform the required tasks. The material covered in the class you take may not even apply to the agency that hires you.

There is alot of hard work to become a Dispatcher. Stress is a constant in the profession, not just at the beginning. The current national turnover rate is 3 years. Meaning most people who get into the profession last about 3 years and then quit.

Credit does play a role in the background investigation of potential new hires. The importance, or weight, of good credit depends on the agency doing the hiring.

It relies upon on what's larger for you. i'm a dispatcher and a matron so i'm getting each and each and every area of the interest. I manage the inmates to boot as do the dispatching for 911. Dispatching may be very demanding at cases and in case you dont do nicely lower than rigidity then the dispatching positon isn't for you. you also must be able to save your voice calm especially circumstances even once you're literally not, because in case you dont which will purely make sure circumstances worse. you also must be able to multi-job in that position....as an example once you've a automobile twist of destiny and look at were given 8 diverse 911 lines going off mutually you nonetheless ought to tell the officials of what they have and the position that is to boot as getting different help which could nicely be necessary for that concern, as an example an ambulance or rescue. A corrections officer is diverse. you should be able to face your floor even as coming in contact with the inmates and also you should be able to submit with a good number of crap which could be reported and done to you. in case you want something that is going to be diverse prevalent, pick the dispatcher....in case you want something that doesnt replace a lot...do the corrections officer interest.
