Can stress cause you to skip or delay your period? I'm almost 2 weeks late, and it's starting to bug me. I know I'm not pregnant since I haven't had sex, so that option is out of the question. I've been stressing alot about my classes, careers, and other things like that. If not stress, what else could it be? And what are some suggestions to this?

Stress could definitely be the cause, but don't just assume it's the cause in your specific case. If you miss more than one, you should go see your doctor. Other possible causes: poor nutrition, extreme loss/gain of weight, extreme increase in physical activity, drug use (including some medications), or problems with pelvic organs.

Stress can cause you to skip cycles like that. Also, your cycle will align itself with the women around you - so if you changed the women you lived with or spent most of your time with, that can effect it, too. If you worked with a certain group of women and then left (or changed who you worked with) that could be contributing. After a time of high stress and moving out of a female dorm back home with my parents, I missed my period for 5 or 6 months, too, so it can happen. However, you SHOULD make sure that you're not pregnant, and you might want to check with your doctor anyway if this goes on longer, just to make sure there is nothing wrong. Eating disorders and certain meds can also effect your periods.

YES! This happened to me all the time in HS. Thank God I wasn't sexually active, I would have drove myself crazy. I had to move during my 10th grade year, which was really hard for me. Well we moved in Decemeber, I didn't get a period until February. So yes it is possible.

yes, it can. If you miss more than one it might be a good idea to get it checked out though.
