I'm in a class called Student Government, and Im in charge of Fundraising. Thing is, we can't sell candy, and food on campus. So that cancels out A LOT of things. We can't do raffles and games of chance, either. We can hardly do anything IN school. What do you guys think that I can do, outside of school? Such as TV tapings and such. Any ideas? Thanks! (:

I'm in a class called Student Government, you see, my school has two "Leadership" classes. One Government, and one Activities. The Activities would do things such as dances and such. It's going to rain soon, anyways. Penny wars is something that the Activiies are going to do. Another thing that they do is a can food drive. It's pretty tuff trying to fundraise in this school because of everything that's going on with these split classes. Any ideas? Thanks! (:

I was president of my youth group, and I got tired of car washes and babysitting for money. So, I decided to just ask people for money. I sat down with them and told them about what we were doing and how we would use the money. People were very willing to make a donation! I was really surprised. I use this for a lot of causes and it really works.

I'm not sure of your climate, but could you wash cars?

Also, contact your local businesses about fundrainsing opportunites. I know some restaurants will give you a certain percentage of profits one night.

Would a Penny War count as a raffle? The idea of a Penny War is to have each class (fresh, soph, junior, senior if you are going school-wide, or just actual different classes, like english versus math) donate pennies. Each penny is worth 1 point. However, if the other "teams" put larger amounts of money in the other team's jars the other team gets negative points. For example, one dollar is negative 100 points, nickels are negative 5 points. The trick with this fundraiser is to either offer the winning class something, or create so much hype that the bragging rights are enough incentive. :)
