Check the fuel pressure, common for the Contour to lose the fuel pump, it was a recall at one time, but has expired.

The best repair for a Contour is to get rid of it. Seriously.

Did you get gas lately if so you may have got some bad gas. Or your fuel pump may be bad. I have a 2006 suv with only 3000 miles on it and it stalled on me Had it towed in to the dealer and it was bad gas.
