I sucked at drawing to. But I started drawing everyday even if it was bad. I started by drawing basic shapes and their relation to full detailed drawings. Just keep practicing and if you cant seem to draw what you see then trace it a couple times. I found tracing helped train my brain to get into the drawing mode. Alot of people frwon on tracing but it worked for me. I went to Borders bookstore alot and I spent hours in the cafe drawing and reading drawing art books. It took me over 6 months to get the hang of it but I eventually really started getting very good.
Make sure to keep pencils, erasures and a sketchbook with you where ever you go because you never know when you may need to break out a drawing. It happend to me everywhere.

PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE

with practice is how you master it. i started since i can remember, one thing i commonly see is that people want to jump straight into details before they can draw a decent head. It is best if you draw plain, but have a good anatomy, practice that first, and details will come naturally after. Anatomy is very detailed actually. Make the bellybutton in the wrong place, and the legs and arms get f**d up. so you see, i recommend reading a lot of manga, since the characters don't move so is easier to notice their anatomy and details. you can also just look at random people, look at the human body, observe it.

also, it doent matter what type of style you have, your anatomy MUST be good, some people also say that because of their style, they can have a bad anatomy, or "oh, we both have different styles of drawing", that is wrong, very wrong. code geass for example. a very weird style of drawing, but the anatomy is perfect, nothing is out of shape. they look weird because they are so long and skinny and pointy.

Go Down to your local bookstore( Ie Walden Bookstore, Barns and Noble, Borders) and go to the art section. There should be books listed as How to Draw Manga Vol.1-whatever and How to Draw Anime VOl.1-whaterver. and once you buy them they will tell you to practice practice practice.

Also watch Comic Party. And learn about the Fan Comic.
