Slightly slower than desktops in terms of processing speed
Delicate to upgrade/ expensive parts
Small viewing screen(monitor) and keyboard
Desktop computers:
Bulky and Heavy
Less expensive
Consumes more Energy
Faster processing speed
Can be upgraded easily/compatible upgrade/parts are cheap
Wider viewing screen (19-20 inch monitors) and extended keyboard
Having said all the above, you should be able to decide what you need. But if you were to ask me again, I'd prefer a laptop over a desktop computer.

I love my laptop and i dont have all that bulky equipment. It does everything a standard computer can and i can go wireless. yeah!
