You have a case of mold in your fridge. Get a few wet paper towels & remove as much of the gray stuff as possible. Run a sink of hottest water your hands can stand w/o burning,& add detergent & 1/4 cup of bleach. Bleach will kill the mold & stop the growth. After mold is cleaned up, wipe it dry.
When I clean my fridge, I do the hot water, detergent & bleach thing & set everything thing out on one shelf at a time, then I clean the top, bottom & sides of that space, dry it w/clean dish towel. Rinse the rag after each space is clean to not transport germs.Next I clean w/ray every bottle, jar and container of that space-even remove lids & wash off if dirty & replace the lid.
I follow this step from top to bottom & the door shelves also, toss near empty containers, and look for out of date items & toss those also.
I clean my freezing compartment this way also, setting everything out & turning on a small heater, set it inside & it defrosts the walls quickly (5-10 minutes) that I can scrub it out w/o my rag sticking to the freezer walls.
I do this cleaning about once a month & at any sign of a spill or a yucky smell. Last week it was a lime that had gone bad.
We can get sick from our fridge if not kept sanitary.

Sounds like mold, you need to use a bleach solution to kill it. Depending on how big it is use at least 70/30 water/bleach if not up to 50/50. Try cleaning your fridge once a month at first, then at least every 6 months once the problem is fixed. The drawers and shelves, unless moldy can be washed in dish-soapy water and rinsed in rinse water with a little bleach in it, or put in the dishwasher if it is dishwasher safe. Spray the rest of the fridge with the above described bleach solution and wipe. You should also defrost your freezer every 6 months to a year. To keep the smells down in your fridge, put an open box of arm-and-hammer or some other baking soda in there. Also don't forget to wipe the seal of fridge and freezer every so often (every month or so) because this can collect grit and germs. Try getting rid of your leftovers weekly, all other items when they expire.

To start any cleaning wear rubber gloves.I f possible tie some thing like thin cloth to ur nose and mouth,so that u prevent fungal or bacterial spores to enter in to ur respiratory system,if they do u end up with some infections
then take some hot water ,soak the dirty part in water for 10 -15 minutes.do not close the fridge door while cleaning.u need not stay near it ,grab a book or watch T.Vor internet .
After some time the dirty thing is easily removable an take it out with paper towel and scrubber and do the remaining cleaning.pat it dry.close the door when every thing is dry(at that time u can promise ur self that u r not going to face this situation again

heehee-yeah, just scoop the worst of it up with paper towels, spray some all-purpose cleaner on the target, and using a scrub sponge, to clean the remainder of the area...rinse well. Generally any spills should be cleaned asap-check under the drawers and hiding places once a week--good time to clean out leftovers while you're at it...

Oh! My ?
I'm feeling quite faint.!
Well, Bi-Carb of soda is the right stuff to use.
Or go to supermarket...and buy special fridge cleaning agent.
Do not use soap of any kind, smell will stay....inside the fridge.
You will need to do it a few times, as you have some serious bacteria...in there!

After you clean your fridge with an all purpose cleaner, spray it with vinegar. Vinegar is a mild disinfectant and deodorizer.
