After two years of it I just had to quit! Some people are just determined to try to pull you into it. I have never worked in a place with so much Machiavellian Drama, and I've been in the work force for 35 years. I mean there is some of it everywhere, but sometimes you just have to walk away.

Move along, move along just to make it thru, move along...

Almost all jobs are like this. When it starts, walk away. Gossips are like quicksand- they live to suck others in.

It will be noted and respected (hopefully). I would say that HR would help but they never have helped me. If the job's worth keeping, stick it out.

Oh! Another tactic is to change the subject on people. That gets the message across. That's what I did when I was a manager. It was effective and it didn't piss people off.

Don't feed into it. Listen but don't contribute it. Try to steer away from groups where all they do is gossip. The end result is that they may think you're stuck up but better that than a gossip.

How frustrating. Try to ignore the gossips and don't get involved in their conversations. When they ask why you don't talk, simply tell them the truth-you don't gossip.

Transfer to the sales department, then get out of the office and make sales. You'll make more money and leave the pathetic people with no lives behind.

I enjoy going to taco bell, having a few bean burritos, and then go back to the office and "crop dust" around everybody.
