There is a belief that left-handed people are more prone to accidents because a majority of items in the world are designed for right-handed people. For example, at least in countries in which motorists drive on the right-hand side of the road, the gear shift on a manual transmission is on the right.
Think of desk telephones. The handset is on the left so you can dial with your right hand.

don't really know if there's been research done about it, but i can speak for myself. i am left handed and i'm not really clumsy, nor have i really had any accidents. so i don't know about it in general, but personally, no.
