No. While Hillary Clinton is the front runner for the democratic nomination, she has ostracized a large enough portion of the country to prevent her from achieving sufficient electoral votes to win the election.

The country is closer to electing a female president however, just not quite yet. In another 10 years it will be more probable that a woman could be elected president.

And as far as Obama (which some have suggested as a possible contender for the presidency), it will take atleast another 20 years for an african american to be elected. The largest voting group in the U.S. currently are those over the age of retirement. As a group they rely more on tradition and outmoded ideals about sex and race. This factor alone will prevent a woman or minority from being elected president anytime in the near future.

One would like to think so and yet I'm not confidant that there is a viable candidate. Hillary has her strong points but it seems to me the first woman might need to be a Republican in order to be able to win a general election. There is still a lot of hate for the Clintons out there and actually I'd rather see someone who will not perpetuate this current climate of government officials who sit in their corner pouting and refuse to compromise. When did compromising get to be a bad thing?

Yes. It will be none other than New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. I'm putting my money on her to win the White House in '08.
