there's a game called "Scattagories". it's in toy stores, target, k mart, and the like. It's an AWESOME game. i mean, a great way to have fun at a house with your friends and/or fam. next time you're at one of those stores, pick it up, read the back, it's a really good buy, believe me!

I have a game group that meets weekly, so we keep up on games. At the end of the evening we usually play something fun and silly. Here are a few of our favorites (all of which can be purchased through Amazon if you can't find them locally):

Apples to Apples - choose a card from your hand (like "Romeo and Juliet") that best fits the random adjective card chosen for that round (like "Mushy"). If the judge of that round picks your card, you get a point. There's time pressure because the last card in doesn't count, so people end up chosing very goofy cards just to get something on the table. There's a LOT of laughter in this one.

Time's Up - a "charades"-like game that gets increasingly difficult in every round. First round: describe the people on the cards in normal English, plus gestures. Second roundone word only, plus sounds and gestures. Third round: gestures and sounds only. If you don't start gesturing in the early rounds (which most people don't), you have a REALLY hard time in the third round. Hilarious. Works best with an even number of players because everyone "partners up."

Smarty Party - you have to guess things in categories, kind of like Family Feud. You lose points If you can't come up with something in the category when it's your turn, but if you DO come up with a correct answer, you get the 'smarty pants' (a miniature pair of blue rubber pants - strange but true). The categories are very diverse (everything from multi-level marketing companies to Power Puff girls), so trivia and American culture buffs do well.

I've heard good things about Cranium, although I've never played it myself...

But we have played "Scattergories" and it is a lot of fun.

Pictionary is fun too.
