Should slavery reparations be paid?

The Germans that enslaved Jews have created monetary funds for Jewish culture and heritage groups. Why can't the US own up to the 300 years of repression they inflicted and afford some quality schooling for black children? This is not a mere handout but an apology. I cant think why anyone would be against it.

Even though slavery ended 150 years ago, the Civil Rights movement is a mere 40 years old. Think about that people. Younger than most of your parents.

Yes, the true reason it should is because this nation still has it. If your against reparations give me one good reason why THIS nation deserves to hold on to it. Everything this nation has today is a benefit directly or indirectly from slavery.

the bigger question is how would it be done.

Where would the money go and who would you take it from.

Many Caucasian Americans (including myself) have no connection with slavery seeing that My parents came here 25 years ago. Oh, still waiting for reparations from the Soviet Union. yeah like that will happen.


also where will the money go? Do you just cut a check for every black person in America? Or do you give money to a black institution. I think either way people will not be satisfied.
