That is so sweet for you to think of your mother. Well, my advice would be to try to find out some of the styles that she might like, or go shopping with her and have the store person decide.Youre really sweet.

I have a brand new gold dress that my Mom had made but she never wore it! I was going to sell it on my online bridal shop, but if you are interested I can sell it to you and ship it to you for the weekend. I think it is a size 12 or 14....what size does your mom need? l am in Alberta, Canada. I can send it express though.
You can IM me (ifthedressfits) or email me at ifthedressfits@yahoo.ca.
:)

I wouldn't even go there. TAKE her shopping and HELP her select something. I don't like the chances of being able to get something off a rack, bring it home and someone else actually like it.
You didn't mention her shape or size. Generally older women look fab in florals or patterns.

That type of dress: 1) she has usually worn for that sort of occasion, and 2) she picks out while buying it, as it should be her choice first of all.

Just take your mother shopping and let her pick out something that she likes -- it does not matter as long as it is tasteful.

Take her out, that way she's happy picking one that she likes, its a good time to bond and talk, and you know for sure it looks good on her, because you've seen her wear it.
