Yes it can bring happiness. It frees up time, by not having to work. That means, that there is more time to do the things you like/want to do. BUT what is meant by it, (at least I perceive it this way). The happiness you get when the hard work wasn't put into it, looses its appeal. If you work, scrimp, and save for a (fill in the blank here)... You will feel a lot more satisfied, then if you were to just snap your fingers, and get it.
Money also can be a burden. You become something more then average, and the expectations of above average increases as well. How many times have you heard someone make a snide comment about Bill Gates? In the case of movie stars, and what not, they are always being hounded about their personal lives. Whether you are rich or poor, you have to take the good, and the bad that comes with it.

This money could make us very busy yes? I think busy is not so good. We may say in our minds that this money will bring some happiness and I believe this is so, but why is this so? Is it because it eases suffering? All are suffering in some way. Truth eases suffering and it costs nothing. We do not feel empty after receiving it or giving it away; and, the more truth fills us the easier existence itself becomes, even the acquiring of wealth. Thank you.

I am not sure if having money can bring me happiness in the material sense, but by not having to work, scrimp and save, I would be able to provide and give; now that would bring me happiness. It would give me more time to do the things for others that I may not be able to without an excess of money to survive on by not working.
As a middle-class working person, who happens to donate money and time to many non-profit organizations, I feel that by having millions, I would be able to give more of myself...of my person, my being not just the "things" money can buy.

Money is like a tool, depends who's hand it's in, it can fix things, or worsen things.
I think I have a good hand and will be able to fix many problems or create new joys around, and although I can't make their joy last forever, I'd be happy to be able to carry on.
as long as I can hide the fact that I am a super rich, so people will not try to influence my decisions.
Oh, yes, I am currently very happy and content, but, time to time, I do wish I can do just a little more...

I think it's best, if you can start out being happy with nothing. If you're miserable with nothing, the money probably isn't going to change anything.
Even if you start out reasonably happy, that kind of money can destroy you, if you don't think carefully about what you're doing with it.
Personally, I would stick to a relatively modest lifestyle, no matter how much money I had. I might drive a nice car, splurge on an occasional trip around the world, but I would wash my own dishes.
One final point: I would love to have an opportunity to prove it.

There are many people (I being one of them) for whom a sudden and sizeable windfall of the financial kind could alleviate certain stressors. This could go a long way toward making the state of happiness more attainable and likely IF certain factors and conditions were already in place, healthy and happy loved ones, etc.
However, having all the money one could want or need will not, in and of itself, ever be solely responsible for an individual's pure, true, and sustained happiness.

Yes. I can't speak for anyone else, but millions of dollars would bring me happiness because I'd never have to work again & could spend my time doing things I love & being with those I love. How could I not be happy?!

Only you can make yourself happy, money is a necessity, if you have millions, think of the happiness you can give to children who don't have the basic necessities, such as food and medicine. Securing yourself financially is the smart thing to do, and using millions of dollars in a productive way can bring you happiness.

heres the thing. there are things that turn happiness on like a switch. you can go without them for years and then the second you have these things BAM... instantly things change in your life.
no matter what anyone says money is the root of many... manny of those things. ultimately... all of those things.
i woudlnt need millions to be happy. i think i just want what a lot of people want, to be living a little better than average.

Yes in a way. I would be pretty darn happy if I got millions of dollars. Now it is not guaranteed to make you happy, it's how you use the money. If you waste it on lottery tickets or super expensive wine, then no it won't make you happy.
