thank god for pain killers..thats the only way I can get through the day or night. I also havent had a bowel movement since 11/10/06 right before I delivered him. I have to go but everytime I try I must rip it a little because it will start burning so bad. Should I take laxitives? Im on a stool softner but thats not working. Any advise would be helpful. Please

I always drank purple grape juice after I delivered it works great! I would stay away from the laxatives they give you really bad cramps and then you will have to deal with more pain, which is why you should try the grape juice. Congrats on your new baby!

laxatives may help..but then you can mabye expect to spend a lot longer on the toilet which may not. Do not use laxitives if you are breastfeeding as your baby might get diarrhea and become dehydrated. I would suggest you go the pharmacist and ask what you can take to go poo. I feel for you, I dont know what i would have done. i didnt even need painkillers the day after, the nurses kept telling me to take a t3 but i didnt need it, but pooing was a different story, so i feel for you. good luck.

Aw hun I'm so sorry! I also tore in four places. Ergh. It was horrible. I know exactly how it is. Tell your doctor the softener isn't working. He'll either up the dosage or give you a better one. It will be painful for awhile, but it eventually does get better. Have you tried the motrin they give you? Eventually the pain killers effect will wear off and the motrin will be the only thing to help.

I didn't rip, but it felt like my doctor sewed me up with fishing wire. I would try a suppository for the poop problem. Make sure you use the water bottle they gave you to rinse after you pee. Use warm water, blot yourself with tucks medicated pads (or the generic kind), and use an analgesic spray. Also, I peed leaning forward as far as I could. It helps the pee go straight down instead of running down your stitches. Use a hemorrhoid pillow to sit on for awhile. Also, just remember it will get better. I know that's not much comfort, but it's the only cheerful thought about the whole thing.

Yup, i'm an similar! some cases a week I make an attempt and do my hair and makeup, no matter if i'm not likely everywhere, and it extremely does make one of those enormous difference to how i think about myself. yet typically speaking, i purely won't be able to be afflicted! I too many times go away the residing house and not using a drop of makeup on - sooo astonishing if you recognize me pre-toddler! yet i have moved to a clean section so I purely make sure what the hell no-one is familiar with me LoL. even as my son is dozing, I have more effective events with myself than to spend 0.5 an hour contained in the mirror dolling myself up - yet I nonetheless like it, and favor I had the potential to do it extra many times!!

I eat lots of oatmeal and raisin bran after giving birth for that very reason. They add nice soft fiber to your diet. I'll even put the raisins in my oatmeal. I have also found that the "dirty toilet hover" (you know where you don't sit on the toilet seat but crouch just above it) works well for avoiding uncomfortable situations with your tear, tenderness, and/or hemmoroid. Also, you can speed up the healing process at your tear if you will use the hairdrier on it. Good luck and congratulations on the new bundle of joy!

Eat something high in fiber like a high fiber cereal. Also try some dermaplast for the pain. I had an episiotomy so I hurt pretty bad after my baby was born, but that stuff really numbed the pain.

i know your feeling. i didn't have my daughter naturally but i had a c-section and it hurt like a son of a b**ch to go to the bathroom. it hurt so bad i wouldn't go. but the best thing to use it prune juice. drink about 6-8 oz. and wait for about an hour and you will go. don't drink to much cause you will have gas and to much gas. and if you have to much it will hurt and you will be to bloated. prune juice work's like charm. most people are like yuck i will not take that. i would just suffer instead. but all you do it plug that nose of your's and chug it done. just drink. if you have to go that bad it help's. if the softner isn't helping don't take it. and lax they can make you go for like day's. prune juice is it. i had a ectopic pregnancy (tubal pregnancy) in my tube's in jan. and they had to do surgery and they had to like dig up and underneath inside of me so my incesion was sore and hurt forever. i had so much trouble going. so i just did the prune. it may hurt just a little at first when you first go but then you will be ok. it won't hurt as bad as now with you trying to go. and if you don't go with the prune juice then you need to do the suppository. congrat on your baby. good luck i hope this help's you.

You might find that once you start going, it doesn't hurt as bad as it seems. I remember being petrified to go potty after giving birth and it being nothing. Good luck!! I feel your pain, twice, and I'll be feeling it again in May!!
