Yes you can BUT unless your a proffessional snake handler like me I strongly suggest you not keep one as a pet my suggestion to you is keep a non-venomous snake as a pet, it has been said that even non-venomous snakes do have some poison in thier saliva but not enough to kill u just makes you very sick!

The short answer: Yes. Many areas have restrictions, and most venomous snakes should never be kept by someone inexperienced. If you are interested in keeping a venomous snake, check with your local ordinances. Also, find a mentor: someone that keeps venomous snakes that is willing to teach you how to keep and handle them. After a couple years you of mentoring, you should be able to keep them yourself.

There are some venomous snakes that would be fine for a semi-experienced person to keep such as the Hognose snake or the False Water Cobra. These are rear venomous snakes that have a mild venom and are not considered deadly unless you are allergic to their venom.

Unfortunately, most people can get a venomous snake regardless of their experience. This is very bad for all snake owners as these people usually get bitten and create a panic or stereotypes in the community that usually result in unfair laws for everyone.

the legality of owning a poisonous snake depends on what state you live in. there are some states that have no restictions on things like that. but unless you are an expert snake handler what would be the purpose of owning one. one little mistake and you won't live to make another stupid choice. so use some sence and don't even bother get something that you can actually take care of without the extreme chance of death.

ask your local humane society for specifics in your area
even if you have venom removed .. then they die if you accidentally lose them..
but why when there are cool looking non poisonous ones.
also note snakes need live food and special care must have lights stay warm more..

they don't look it but are a lot of work.

just want to be gruesome?..get a couple piranha instead. or a gnarly looking rodent.

Its not illegal but the risk to yourself and issues of liability if someone else is bitten makes it a very poor idea.

they can, its stupid to do so and you need a license.
I was about to get my license and then i thought about the fact that i wouldn't be able to hold the snake.

With lots of permits. And it depends on where you live.

But this is not a smart move. Don't forget to buy life insurance.

probably not a good idea, why not try a non-venomous one instead?
