It depends on the child's age but in general yes, it is quite a bit.

It's a minimum. I charge 15-20 an hour for tutoring high school math and physics, and babysitting can be more strenuous, of course depending on the child in question.

Depends on how many children someone is watching, I use to make like $8 for one child and for every additional child an extra $2 an hour.

that is not nearly enough! Usually i got paid 7 an hour for 2 kids an extra $2 a hour for each additional kid. If it was for a single hour then a minimum of $15 or twenty. You get what you pay for, if this is a reliable sitter that you will use again then don't be disrespectful.

No I don't think so. How many kids were being watched? Most baby sitters charge by hour AND per child.

hmm...in this day and age...not really. I think five bucks an hour is pretty reasonable....well, maybe a little high, but I wouldn't really go any lower than four. It also depends on where you live, and how many kids you are watching.
