Well, let's start with who will make the playoffs. From the AFC, it will be: 1) Indianapolis, 2) San Diego, 3) Baltimore, 4) New England, 5) Denver, 6) New York
And the NFC: 1) Chicago, 2) New York, 3) Seattle, 4) New Orleans, 5) Carolina, 6) Philadelphia

In the wild card round, Baltimore hosts the Jets. This contest won't even be close, as the Ravens pound New York, 34-10. In the other AFC match-up, the Patriots and Broncos are going to go at it hard, and the Patriots will pull the stunner in OT, 23-20. The NFC wild card will see Seattle crush Philadelphia, 44-17. In the other game, an NFC South rematch, the Panthers will end the miracle run of the Saints in a close one, 30-24.

This brings us to the divisional round. The first AFC game pits the Ravens against the Chargers in a battle of two great defenses. After a long, low-scoring battle, the Chargers will get a late touchdown run from LaDainian Tomlinson and pull away, 23-10. And then we have the Colts hosting the Patriots. The game that no one thinks Peyton Manning can win. And this year will be no different. The Patriots get revenge for the loss earlier in the year by playing mistake-free football and stealing the win late, 27-24, after Adam Vinatieri, in a strange twist of irony, misses a 50-yard game-tying field goal as time expires.

The NFC divisional round isn't nearly as exciting as the AFC's but still has a couple good games. First up is a big game between two more solid defenses, with Chicago hosting Carolina. The defenses may be even, but the Carolina offense will be too much. Steve Smith is gonna go off with nearly 200 receiving yards and two scores, as the Panthers reach their third NFC title game in five years, 26-17. In the other game, the Giants host the Seahawks. Seattle, coming off a big win against Philadelphia, continues the momentum in this one. But it is short-lived, as the Giants keep pace in this high-scoring affair until late in the fourth, where Eli Manning takes over for the game-winning drive. Feely nails a 36-yard field goal and the Giants win it, 44-42.

Now we have the conference championship games, New England at San Diego, and Carolina at New York. The Giants take control of Carolina early in the contest, with two Brandon Jacobs touchdowns to take an early 14-0 lead. But the Panther come back and make it a tight, 20-14 game at halftime. The second half sees the Panthers come right out and take the lead on a quick, 74-yard touchdown run by DeAngelo Williams. After the teams trade field goals, the Giants trail 24-23 with five minutes to go. Manning leads the Giants on a long, 89-yard drive, capped off by another Jay Feely field goal, giving the Giants the game, 26-24.

In the AFC title game, the Patriots play completely opposite the way they played against the Colts, as Shawn Merriman forces two Tom Brady fumbles, and Brady throws two picks in the first half alone, and the Chargers build a commanding 31-7 halftime lead. Brady and the Patriots attempt a second half rally, scoring 17 unanswered to make it 31-24. But Tomlinson gets a big run to give San Diego back a 14-point lead. In the end, the Charger defense is too much, as Brady is picked off late, and the Chargers take it, 41-31.

And we arrive at Super Bowl XLI. Giants vs Chargers. Eli Manning vs Philip Rivers. That will be the storyline going in, but Tiki Barber and LaDainian Tomlinson will steal the show, as each gets a first quarter touchdown and we end the first quarter tied at 7. The two defenses clamp down in the second quarter, as both Manning and Rivers are picked off in the red zone and we end the first half with Jay Feely nailing a 41-yard field goal to make it 10-7 in New York's favor. The teams trade field goals in the third before Rivers finds Keenan McCardell in the end zone to give the Chargers their first lead, 17-13. But later on in the third, a shotgun snap goes past Rivers and into the end zone, where he covers it up, but takes the safety, making it a two-point game. After the free kick, Manning hits Plaxico Burress for a 47-yard touchdown, and, after a failed two point conversion, the Giants lead once again, 21-17. The third quarter ends with a Nate Kaeding 52-yard field goal to make this a 21-20 game going into the fourth. The Giants defense in the fourth thwart Charger comeback attempts everywhere, intercepting Rivers twice more, forcing several punts. Nearing the end of the game, Feely adds another field goal to extend the lead to 24-20. With little time left, Rivers drives the Chargers down for one last shot. Needing a touchdown with 37 second left and at the Giants 23-yard line, Rivers throws a pass into the end zone for Antonio Gates, but it gets batted down and the Giants hang on for the win and the Super Bowl title.

Final score, New York Giants 24, San Diego Chargers 20
