Yes they both lost to Federer so whoever wins should advance unless Ivan wins against Federer and Nalbandian but ya basically It's a must win for Andy

not necessarily. this is what I was explaining to someone else yesterday; read scenarios #4 & #5

the red group is still not finalized. mathematically
anything can still happen depending on thursday's
results. even fed can fail to qualify despite his two
wins! FED plays LUB & RDK plays NAL

scenario #1: if fed loses in 2 straight sets and rdk
beats nalbandian, lub and rdk will advance.

#2: fed loses (in 3sets) and rdk wins (in 3sets), 2 of
fed, rdk or lub will advance (based on winning% of
games)

#3: fed and rdk both win; fed & rdk advance
#4: fed and rdk both lose; fed & lub advance
#5: fed wins & rdk loses; fed & one of lub, nal, or
rdk advance (based on winning% of sets, games)

so under #5:
if Fed beats Lub in 2 sets and RDK loses to NAL, Fed and NAL will advance.
if Fed beats Lub in 3 sets and RDK loses in 2 sets, Fed and NAL will advance.
if Fed beats Lub in 3 sets and RDK loses in 3 sets, TIE-BREAKER BETWEEN LUB, RDK AND NAL WILL BE DECIDED BY HIGHEST % OF GAMES WON!!!

THIS IS ALL VERY EXCITING!!
