Which of these two people "usually" have more money?

Economically speaking, as in better standard of living, high savings, less debt, and promising financial future? How do you know?

The five wealthiest congressional districts in the U.S. are:

1) Virginia's 11th district -- voted 50% for Bush, 49% for Kerry, and elects a moderate Republican to the House.

2) New Jersey's 11th district -- voted 57% for Bush, 42% for Kerry, and elects a moderate Republican to the House.

3) California's 14th district -- voted 68% for Kerry, 30% for Bush, and elects a liberal Democrat to the House.

4) Georgia's 6th district -- voted 70% for Bush, 29% for Kerry, and elects a conservative Republican to the House.

5) California's 15th district -- voted 63% for Kerry, 36% for Bush, and elects a liberal Democrat to the House.

My conclusion: it varies. There's more than money at stake.

I think this might be a too simplistic way to look at the issue. I am sort of neither liberal or conservative but rather moderate, I tend to shoot to the middle between liberal economic policies and conservative ones. My family is well off and I suppose if I were only interested in my immediate personal bank account I would go with the conservatives. I often don't though because I think you have to ask yourself though what kind of a world do I want to live in and leave for my children. Unbridled capitalism seems to sort people into rather top heavy have and have not categories. The only just society is one where all children are provided equal vigorous educations and all citizens have their basic healthcare needs met. I think it reprehensible for some people to have dozens of homes while some have none at all. My husband is european and his parents had good jobs but were not super wealthy. Still they had a nice home, pool, cars. They pay about 10% more in tax than we do but when his father had a stroke he had excellent care that cost nothing. My husband got his PhD without having to pay anything, he just had to work a lot harder than kids who go to college here have to and prove he could do the work. University degrees from the US aren't considered on par with many european equivalent degrees. The poverty rate there is also much lower than here in the US and the crime rate is also. They don't have the US's mega prisons. I love my country and I would like to see a happy medium worked out. It can't be all about me, me, me though. We live together in communities that make up a society.

Neither, democrat, I have both conservative and liberal views, however I have the common sense to know that democrats are generally for the average working class citizen. My liberal view points are pro choice, and, well, I guess that's it, even though I'm not really sure that I'm completely pro choice, I think that in some cases a woman shouldn't have a choice. Like for instace in cases where they no that the baby is going to come out addicted to crack crank or meth, or deformed because of the mothers continued drug use, I think that in those cases, they should force the woman to have an abortion. However, I'm conservative in the fact that I believe strongly in the death penalty and the right to bear arms, by all!!! So, I'm kind of a toss up. Republicans are usually born with silver spoons in their mouths, they are generally thought of to be conservatives. I just wish instead of liberals and conservatives we had some common sensatives. Anyhow, have a good night. Tammy

Republicans have more money usually because they tend to want to take advantage of the system while stomping down and tearing others down in their wake. Sucks, really. Democrats are the most hard-working people you will ever meet though, and they WORK and EARN their money, instead of inheriting it. Go to a college campus and you'll find mostly liberal professors and students. Those people are the truth, those people are REAL.

...Liberals have more money. Conservatives feign wealth and rack up debt in the mean time or they squander it away on some financial deal. Liberals tend to not live beyond their means as they fight for social causes and keep wealth and material things in perspective. I really don't know it depends on the person not the political party.

Liberals do. I know this because about 90% of Hollywood and New York is liberal. and there is rarely another state where people can afford to spend 5 bucks on a cup of coffee on a daily basis (starbucks) or 400 dollars on a purse (coach, or prada) apperently, they can afford it so they must be wealthier. elitists.

There's rich and poor in each, but conservatives are more likely to pay attention to their finances.

Conservitives because they're selfish non-contributors. At least most of them are. And then there are the hillbillies who are too stupid to pick the right party.

... it depends... often conservatives, because they come from wealthy families and want to keep that money in the family... and Republicans support pro-wealth ideas...

it would be interesting to see the number that went from poverty to wealthy and their affiliations though...

Conservatives by a long shot. We want to earn it. We understand economics. We depend on ourselves, not the government.
