The information needs to be something an eigth year old can understand,this is for a class project she is doing any help would be great, thanks

The best ting to do is to start with info directly from the state's web site. Most second and third grader's can handle reading the basics on these sites. If not, she can read through it with an adult.

There are many websites with this type of info. Also, you can write to the chamber of commerce for specific info on a particular area in the state. Here's one for Salem, Oregon--

try ask Jeeves for kids, this is a site that is made for kids that are searching for something and also helps with homework projects!
It's also in a language that children can understand!!!
