I've got a friend who calls my other friend's hubby "Daddy".
I told my friend this is inappropriate. The hubby LOVES his wife(he gives her all the attention a hubby should). But the other girl doesn't get the picture to leave him alone.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with you. That's innappropriate and generally trashy. It doesn't suggest that she cares much for the sanctity of his marriage, nor for her own emotional wellbeing.

Well I have a very loving, peaceful, sane fiance who lives a very Bohemian lifestyle. But I can tell you now that if any woman was to come in here and start calling me daddy well that hippie era chick wouldn't take to kindly to it and I believe that she would let the other one know in no uncertain terms that if she didn't cease and desist this type of communication that she could find her own way out the door. And all this without any violence, I think!!! It is most inappropriate.

Calling another woman's husband "daddy" is inappropriate. The husband and wife in question should tell this girl to back off or else they can nail her for harrassment.

Wuat?? thats not right she shouldnt be calling him like that , she needs to watch out and open her eyes cause thenmaybe later she might be going thru some trouble of her own friend trying to take her hubby away from her if she likes him.....cause a girl always tries to get what they want!

If a grown woman is calling another womans husband "daddy" then she has some serious isues. The wife of the man should put this woman in her place. It all sounds a little fishy to me....

Daddy is a term earned by the child he has not only fathered but invested time with raising......
Daddy is a term of endearment given by a child to their father....

Daddy is sometimes the affectionate name that the wife also calls her husband revealing that she feels the same security her children do with and in him and his presence....

So I agree - she is not in a position to call this person Daddy.

Out of respect to her friend/his wife - she should call him by his given name!

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

The only time a woman should call another woman's husband "Daddy" is if that guy IS ACTUALLY HER FATHER!!

"Daddy" is a very sexual thing for a woman to say to a guy and if she's talking to another woman's husband like that, she's trying to let him know she wants him in a sexual way...

That's inappropriate, and she should cut it out

First of all, this is a woman who cares absolutely nothing for anyone but herself. It is up to the husband to tell her to stop calling him that. Unless he speaks up, she is going to continue to disrespect the wife. I really don't know why it is so hard for men to speak up for their wives but it really makes me sick. I don't think the wife should say a thing because this will only get this type of woman going. Definitely, if the husband is really as good as you say he is, he should have settled this long ago. I can see your frustration.

That's strange...really strange. I think that guy needs to tell her to stop. Whoa...sorry, but I've never heard of another woman calling her friend's husband 'daddy'.

Agreed this is completely inappropriate. One way you can get her to see how rediculous she is being is by calling him his real name in front of her and only refer to him by his real name. Similarly, in front of her and other friends only speak of him as his real name (advise the friends to speak of him only by his name too and warn them to stare at her or make a comment in front of others about the strangeness of calling him such a silly name - if you mock her, she will change) and hopefully she will get the hint that NO ONE calls him 'daddy' unless they are his DAUGHTER!
