why do the countries like uzbekistan and tajikstan end " stan" ?

ending in " stan " meaning is there any reason behind it, or what..........?

-stan is from an Iranian root "sta-" for stay or a place where one stays (i.e. homeland). Uzbekistan therefore is the place where the Uzbek people live.

they just do why is america named America? well they might have a thing in there culture but i am from pakistan and it has a stan ending and it doesnot mean anything there
