You CAN be single, but concidering how the christians control everything, Unless youre married you might as well wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which gets full faster. Same goes for being homosexual. The TAX FREE dollars of the christian community (hows that for seperation of church and state) do not want to pay for the electing of someone who by their very being, goes against their beliefs. So, no Im sorry- even though its legal to be single or gay, you will have a difficult if NOT impossible journey should you try and run for president.

Marriage is not a technical requirement for the Presidency. There was one US president who married while in office. Most candidates find it hard to run as a single person, for good or bad, many voters feel like they want the head of state to be in a stable marriage.

Sexual orientation is also not a requirement, though many voters may have a hard time with this fact.

Nothing in the law or the Constitution says that a President has to be married. The only requirements are that the President be native born and thirty-five years of age to be eligible to hold the office. It says nothing either about whether a President must be male or female.

Anyone, as of right now as long as you are a natural born citizen of the United States can be president. Even homosexual or not too intelligent as the current president.

Legally you can be all those things, but that doesnt mean people will vote for you. Ask yourself if you think the American people would like this person. I mean some people wear the single life or homosexuality better than others. I still dont think the country would be ready for a gay leader, but I definitely think they could deal with someone who's single, maybe a woman. Just my opinion.

There is no legal requirement that an individual be married, or to have any specific sexual orientation. James Buchanan, the 15th President of the United States, (1857-1861) was the only unmarried president to date.

As far as the U.S. Constitution and laws are concerned, no, you don't have to be married to be the President of the United States. (You can be single, and yes, you can be homosexual.)

But as far as the American voting public is concerned...ah well, that's another matter. Apparently American voters prefer someone who's male, straight, married, Christian, white and slightly(?) hick.

There is no law on the books that requires the president to be married. I don't think that there is a law on the books against the president giving a BJ to his boyfriend.

If I am not mistaken, we had two single presidents ages ago. However, it is PRACTICALLY, not LEGALLY, impossible for a homosexual to become president at this time.
