Help me please, ipod dock problems?

Question

I have an iblaster cube. It's like a portable dock/charger. The problem is I don't know how to charge my ipod with it. I plug my ipod into the built-in cord and it doesn't charge. WHat do I have to do or do I just have a broken dock?

I really need help, I'm going on vacation in 4 days and if I can't make this work, i'll need to buy another one cuz i won't b able 2 charge w/o my comp

2 things...
1. Make sure when you place the iPod on the dock, the dock is plugged in properly and the machine is on.

2. Dock maybe defective.
