Yeah, it most likely will. Different departments have different rules & regs...but from what I've seen if you aren't already in law enforcement you may as well start planning a different career and if you are already in law enforcement one lifetime is 'allowed' (it even says nearly as much on the online app for Phoenix PD if I remember correctly).
