Those people who take social gatherings to the extreme of both ends of the scale.

Extroverts think that they NEED to always be a part of a group (and usually the life of that group) in order to function.

Whereas introverts immediately shut-down when they are meeting new people or in a highly social situation. They think they cannot function in a group setting, so they isolate themselves.

An introvert thinks more and that closes his or hers mouth, an extrovert thinks less and talks more, neither one is better.

An introvert is someone who is not outspoken with their thought, and are very quiet and keep to themselves. An extrovert on the other hand is not afraid to express themselves for who they are. They are not afraid to speak what is on their minds, they are normally out going people.

extroverts are energized by social gatherings with lots of people. Introverts are worn out after such gatherings, and would probably feel worn out--preferring to be alone afterwards.

Extroverts:

Act first, think/reflect later

Feel deprived when cutoff from interaction with the outside world

Usually open to and motivated by outside world of people and things

Introverts:

Think/reflect first, then Act

Regularly require an amount of "private time" to recharge energy

Motivated internally, mind is sometimes so active it is "closed" to outside world

Prefer one-to-one communication and relationships
