The Sand people are a tribal society. Anakin may have killed a clan or a little village, but not all of them. They are not supposed to live all together in the same place. The clans are spread out in the Tattoine deserts.

The entire legend of Anakin is that he is based in the
Roswell phenomenom and knows what truth is in every case.
The sand people were his own predecessors that became
granted immortality by the God almighty to monitor the skies.
There grant was very near invincibility also, the point in this
movie is that their immortality might be some guarantee.

MTV doesn't know what she's talking about. The sandpeople are tribal people who live in a very conservative society. Their tribal groups are spead out. You can wipe out a tribe, but not an entire race. Even the Empire couldn't do that when they wanted to eliminate the Jedi. If you want to know what the whole story means, you have to read Joseph Campbell and Carl Jung.
